Pasta Party

This would not have been possible without Papa's help. He made sauce and put it in individual jars for the girls to take home.

I tried to avoid extra sugar by offering fruit water. The girls caught on.

The girls look on with rapt attention as Papa shows them how to make pasta.

 Such a creeper.

What a special, special day for Olivia. A huge thank you to Papa for all of your help. The girls had a blast!

Beach Trip

We started out at South Shore. Hmmm...eerily quiet. My swim app said the water was good, but we decided not to chance it.

Onto "birthday beach" aka 63rd street. We went on Liv's birthday last year with the Carms and they love it.

I love that Leo and Olivia love to swim, and love the beach. P.S. - can you see what is happening in this pic? Liv coming in for a shovel, and Leo is not about to let her have any.

Impromptu Pool Party

This water balloon launcher was impressive (aimed at Mickey + friends 2 yards over).

Big Boy

Steve and I put together a bed for Leo today - he was so excited for it.

One More

Kathy sent me this pic. Olivia marvels over his footwork and sharp moves (as do I).

Obsessed

A touch of makeup for her big day.

Grace, Claire, Maggie, Sarah and Liv

Aside from Leo's outing to the Irish Heritage Center when he was a wee babe, he's never really seen dancers. He loved it. I asked him what was his favorite part "stomping feet" and "gurls"

Olivia is in the beginner class, and some of the older kids helped them with the jig.

Olivia stood right by the stage the entire time, mesmerized by the outfits, the footwork.

 Olivia with her buddy Pat.

Olivia with Michael Putman. She stopped mid-bite of a cookie, starstruck.

*********
Olivia has been doing lessons at Dennehy for a few weeks now. Introduced to the world of dance by her best buddy Maggie, she is entirely smitten with all of it. She wants to dance "forever" and can't wait to learn the hornpipe. On the way home last night I would say she floated on a cloud of glitter and shamrocks. Beaming ear to ear, she requested a no-music car ride to discuss her favorite parts. "I was so nervous when I got on stage, but when I did the first step I was so happy." " I loved getting to say my name in the microphone. I was filled with excitement." And then, my favorite: "Mom, I'm so proud of you. You signed me up, you got me shoes, an outfit, did my hair. Thank you so much."

Pool Fun

 Pink Puff

Steve's nieces sure are big fans of him.

 He caught an Iggy!
