Oh Halloween, We'll Miss You.

Olivia was so excited to wear her outfit. We had planned on nude pantyhose but then opted for warmer tights - such a chilly day!

It was a battle to put her coat on - "Moooom! No one will see my outfit!"

We ran into Sophia! What fun!

Apparently the glasses got in the way of the hot chocolate.

Liv and Ryan, after the shaving cream fight.

Auntie Gena joined us for some tricks and treats.

There's that blonde hair we know and love.

Seriously! What three year old does this?

Liv was the instigator of this. She had a blast.

What a perfect Halloween sky.

Liv and her friend Ellie. As soon as Liv saw her, she realized she "needed" her glasses, too.

Choices, choices.

What a fantastic Halloween we had! Even though it was a bit chilly, we still did a fair amount of trick or treating (with the help of a wagon). Then it was back to our place for a block party - which was a great way to end the day. Although, as I type this, the party is anything but ending. I'd say it was just getting started...

A Lucky Girl Indeed

Grampie sent her an adorable Halloween bouquet with a cute witch. What a treat!

Halloween Party!

Daphne is ready to roll!

The kids loved seeing each other all dressed up.

Girlies, comparing shoes.

Olivia and Nathan have an interesting relationship.

Sophia the witch navigates the discussion. Olivia is accusing Nathan of stealing her Elmo toothbrush, and of going into the girls bathroom.

Daphne was confused and thought the rug was a stage.

The class photo, with Miss Linda and Miss Katie holding Elliot.

Olivia has been obsessed with Halloween parties ever since we started reading "Corduroy's Halloween" a couple of years ago. So there was a lot of excitement around her preschool's Halloween party this Thursday.

Not So Spooky

Freeze dance. Now every time I ask Olivia to do something, she says: "I can't, I'm freezed."

Olivia helped the Three Little Kittens find their mittens.

For the second year in a row, Olivia and I went to McAuley's "Not So Spooky" Haunted House. The girls do a great job of entertaining the kids, "Dorothy" loved every minute of it.

Pumpkins for Our Pumpkin

We carved pumpkins last night and roasted pumpkin seeds. Olivia was all about it: "I just need you to help me with the knife" and then when I took the knife away from her, "are you going to get me a bigger knife?" Not likely. We put them on our porch and Steve turned on the fog machine to make it extra spooky.

Social Butterfly

The kids waiting patiently for the show to start.

Skiddles!

Isaac made a fantastic spider man.

Olivia had a double birthday party to attend on Sunday for our neighbors. Isaac turned 5, and Samantha turned 3. "Skiddles" the clown made a special appearance - putting on a magic show, painting faces and she even made balloon animals! Such a fun party.

Pumpkin Patch

OMG - a throwing up zombie? Right up Olivia's alley.

No fear when it comes to farm animals.

A quaint little bunny village.

Quite a determined look from such a little girl.

I hope these geese don't mean colder weather is on the way!

Esme was fiercely protective of her purse. For good reason, it was stuffed with little people.

Who knew Bones' family was so musically inclined?

The hay maze, which was most likely teeming with mice. Shudder.

Watch out Esme, Olivia is M-A-D that she couldn't go on the train ride.

Of course there are all smiles, after the train ride.

Totally plotting to spirit some Cubs/Sox lollipops away.

Olivia and Esme were lucky duckys - they got to see each other twice this weekend. On Sunday we headed to Bengston's Pumpkin Farm and were delighted to hear that Marc and Esme were en route as well. Emmett was still a bit stuffy, so Aimee stayed home with him. It was a beautiful day to spend outside. Bengston's was packed full of things to do - a haunted house (yikes, a bit too scary for the kiddies), a petting zoo, rides, a fun house. What a perfect fall day.
