With each Thanksgiving comes a multitude of things to be thankful for. I am thankful for my wonderful Husband and family who pitched in so that I could still host while under the weather. I am thankful that my Dad is on a good road to recovery from his hip surgery. I am thankful for my beautiful Olivia, who could barely contain her Thanksgiving excitement. I am thankful for family members who washed all of the dishes by hand, and did so in good humor. I am thankful for my butterball niece, Esme, who will be a big sister in May. I am thankful for a talented sister-in-law who came bearing delicious parfaits- cranberry gelatin, buttermilk panna cotta and cinnamon shortbread. I am thankful that my sister Erin and husband Scott will be here for Christmas, we missed them.

Not So Magnificent Lights Festival
Liv and Molly, future babysitter.
Instead of a Cheezborger Liv should ask for a comb.
We went down to the lights festival on Michigan Ave (along with a thousand other people). It was terribly crowded, but things started looking up when we ran into our neighbors the Welsh's. And when Liv saw Mickey Mouse, it was all worth it. She told Micky: "I love you" and "see you soon". We finished the night with burgers at Billy Goat - a great end to a long night.

Never in a Million Years
Liv told me she wanted a kitty. "Pease, Mommy?" I asked her what she would do with the kitty - "hold it". Where would the kitty sleep? "on a pillow." When I asked her what she would feed the kitty, without missing a beat, she responded: "my boobies."

The Fish Has a Name
This morning Liv was calling me from her crib, so I went in to get her. She was jumping up and down pointing at the fish (on her dresser) "Nemo's up! Nemo's uuuup!" And then, with a chuckle, "silly fish."
