The Day After

The morning started with mischief. What else?

Daddy/Uncle Steve made the girlies pancakes.

More cousin love.

Esme was skeptical that she looked as cute as I said she did.

A mini dance party in Liv's room.

Sleepover!

Liv has been looking forward to seeing Esme all day. And it shows.

Esme too. She's overcome with emotion.

Here Liv was saying: "sweet little baby"

After hugs it was time to party.

Esme had a little "I dream of Jeanne" dance she would do when this dog sang.
We packed up the girlies to head to our favorite place, La Fiesta. They were very well behaved, and shared some quesadillas.

After dinner they showed us their artistic talent, along with some hat-head.

Bathtime. Esme was in bed immediately after, and Liv stayed up a little later.

Watch Out Rachel Zoe

Liv is starting to dress herself, and has a strong opinion on what I wear too.

So Happy

Olivia was bursting with happiness after meeting Dora.

Olivia Meets Dora

Nana and Auntie Gena took Liv to Nordstroms to meet Dora today. I think we were all expecting a big foam character, but this actually worked out better. A real person is much more approachable! Liv was full of stories when she came home from her fun day.

Of Course

Olivia has a placemat that has a map on it. This serves as a good source of education/entertainment during meal times. I asked Olivia where Mommy was born and she got it right, and pointed to North Dakota. I then asked her to clarify - she responded with: "the baby store."

A Lady Kind of Sunday

Olivia really brought the fancy for Annie's ladies lunch.

Heather and Matylda brought a really tasty Star-Wars themed dip (I think the face belongs to Darth Mall?)
Liv and Matylda gave the lunch and Cinderella a thumbs up.

After we got home, Liv was pooped. What a great day!

Cakepops = Don't Even Bother

I have been meaning to make cakepops for quite awhile. When two of my favorite food bloggers, pioneerwoman and bakerella got together and made them, I knew it was time. Aside from being a bit of a mess, the cakepops themselves didn't taste so spectacular. That didn't stop me from bringing them to Annie's ladies lunch, though.

Just Another Day at the Dollhouse

Look at Those Cheeks

Barbie Meets Tonka

Liv's dolls are really enjoying the tow-truck that one of her friends left at our house.

Goodnight Moon Goodnight Liv

Liv and I like to play the Goodnight Moon game before bedtime. It's some special down-time, and is a lot more calming than jumping on our bed to Madonna.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from O'Livia

Southside Parade

Steve helps out by cutting up the potatoes. We also made corned beef and blue-cheese coleslaw.

Doesn't it look like Liv brought the sunshine with her?

Keeping a cheery face despite our fear of getting sidelined by drunk burly college kids.

Liv and the Keough boys attempt to escape.

Liv is the minority here. The boys have taken over. I especially like the cupcake on the roof. You know, for later.

Liv and Owen, playing into their gender stereotypes.

Adorable babes Maura Drew and Genevieve Turney.

The kids settle down and watch Shrek.

And the day is finished off with a lovely dinner-for-three, with Liv, Seamus and Nicholas (who, by the way treated us to a fantastic solo of Oh Danny Boy - the whole song!)

A Night Out At The Irish American Heritage Center

Matylda and Olivia share a tentative hug

Matylda is more than likely entertaining with a funny anecdote.

Liv and Emma haven't seen each other in over a year, but Emma's gift of a spring purse makes them fast friends.
And they pair off to dance.

Ever the enterprising tots, they fashion an impromptu limbo stick out of a broken necklace.

Liv is anxiously waiting for the next song. Note the fancy Irish bracelet her Grampie gave her.

Liv and Grammie about to cut a rug.

Too bad Liv didn't enjoy herself.

One of Liv's many suitors.

I have a sneaking suspicion I just caught a glimpse of Liv's college years on the dance floor.
