Most blocks aren't lucky enough to have a hole in the street like ours. It's a couple of feet away from the curb, and about big enough for a cat to slip through. The scary thing is that it goes pretty deep. We're always "exploring" the hole, bringing flashlights and binoculars. We don't get too close though. You never know what's down there.
